Fights Break Out At Ashaiman NPP Office Over T-Shirt & Cash Sharing

New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives and supporters fought over party supplies and money, causing tensions to explode in Ashaiman office of the party.

The fight happened during preparations for the party’s flagbearer, Mahamudu Bawumia, and running mate, Matthew Opoku Prempeh, to visit during their scheduled campaign.

Witnesses at the scene claim that arguments over how to divide up money and T-shirts that supporters were supposed to wear broke out, starting the confrontation.

A number of party officials and adherents expressed their belief that they were unjustly excluded from the distribution procedure, leading to heated discussions that quickly turned physical.

It was stated that supporters lost patience with the leadership and accused some executives of stealing resources meant for the group as a whole.

Some top NPP branch members in the area engaged in an attempt to mediate the conflict, but things quickly got out of hand.
