Black Stars Squad For 2025 AFCON Qualifiers Against Sudan Is Here

A 25-man lineup for Ghana’s doubleheader match against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifications has been revealed by coach Otto Addo.

Alexander Djiku and Gideon Mensah, two defenders who were absent from the qualifiers against Angola and Niger last month, have returned to the squad.

Isaac Afful, a left-back for FC Samartex, received his first call-up after showing well in both the current Premier League and the CAF Champions League qualifying round.

Ernest Nuamah of Olympique Lyon and Ibrahim Sulemana of Atalanta have both returned to the team following their recuperations from injuries that prevented them from competing in last month’s qualifiers.

On Thursday, October 10, Ghana will play Sudan in the Accra Sports Stadium. On Monday, October 14, 2024, Ghana will travel to Libya for the rematch at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benina, Libya.

After a dismal start to the qualifiers against Angola and Niger, the Black Stars will look to defeat the Falcons.

Prior to a 1-1 draw with the Super Eagles, Ghana suffered a 1-0 loss at Baba Yara Stadium against the Palancras Negras.

On Monday, the Black Stars are anticipated to report for duty.
