Bawumia Introduces CitizenApp To Improve Public Services.

The CitizenApp, a ground-breaking smartphone application created to enhance Accra’s citizen engagement and public service delivery, was introduced by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The CitizenApp intends to provide a one-stop platform for accessing various government services, reporting difficulties, and obtaining real-time updates on public matters.

It is intended to serve as a personalized platform for all Ghanaians, improving their access to a range of government services and giving them timely access to vital information. Additionally, it is anticipated that the app would improve efficiency and transparency by streamlining communications between citizens and government organizations.

Dr. Bawumia emphasized how the app may improve accountability and transparency in government operations while streamlining procedures and cutting down on bureaucracy.

He stated:

“What Ghana has done many advanced countries have not yet done it. So we are moving in a direction that has major opportunities…Once the system comes in doing business in Ghana will be very easy and smooth, paying taxes will be very easy, getting your passport, will be very easy, registering a business is very easy.”

“It is going to make life easier for the citizens and this system also allows the government to communicate with the citizens. This is an exciting development in our digitalisation journey,”

The launch event was attended by key government officials, tech industry leaders, and members of the public.
