NPP Supporters Storm Parliament Grounds Ahead Of Sittings

Parliament is preparing for yet another round of drama even before it begins its proceedings today, October 22, 2024.

Thousands of supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have flocked to the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

These NPP supporters were wearing various party swaggers, yet it’s unclear whose constituencies they belong to.

Additionally, some donned t-shirts bearing the images of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer.

Wearing t-shirts with the Majority Chief Whip and Nsawam Adoagyiri MP Frank Annoh Dompreh’s logo, another group held a banner that said Densu Agya NPP Movement.

Although Speaker Alban Bagbin’s announcement of four open seats has been delayed by a Supreme Court ruling, their appearance follows preparations by National Democratic Congress (NDC) members of parliament to occupy the majority side.

In the meanwhile, Parliament is currently heavily fortified with massive security.
