The wife of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama, recently traveled to the Volta Region’s Ketu North Constituency to support John Mahama and Edem Agbana, the parliamentary candidate.
Mrs. Mahama met with the constituency’s chiefs and queen mothers during her visit to ask for their blessings and prayers for the NDC’s campaign.
She urged the traditional elders to back Edem Agbana, the NDC’s parliamentary candidate, in order to ensure a resounding win.
The party’s constituency leadership was praised by the former First Lady, who emphasized that their commitment and diligence would guarantee John Mahama’s victory in December.
She assured the populace that their allegiance to the NDC would always be rewarded with vital development initiatives, reinforcing her husband’s steadfast dedication to the Volta Region.
Mrs. Mahama, a well-known philanthropist and supporter of women and children through her Lordina Foundation, emphasized the significance of programs like the National Apprenticeship Program, the Women’s Development Bank, and the adoption of a 24-hour economic policy that is specifically targeted at women and young people.
She promised that in the event of a future Mahama administration, women who operated small companies would have access to reasonably priced funding.
Mrs. Mahama donated medical equipment to improve healthcare services at the Afife Health Center. On behalf of the health center, Dr. Sampson Mortty thanked the donor for the timely donation, pointing out that it would greatly ease the difficulties the health team faced because of insufficient medical supplies.
He said he was confident the donated equipment will significantly enhance their capacity to provide quality care.
Edem Agbana also expressed gratitude to Mrs. Mahama for responding so quickly to the facility’s help request.
He gave his constituents his word that the health center will be revitalized and given more funding to enhance services in the event of a future Mahama administration.
