Philip Appiah Kubi, also known as Roman Fada, the Ghana Freedom Party’s (GFP) presidential candidate, has been disqualified by the Electoral Commission (EC) from running in the election scheduled for December 7.
This came after a thorough review of the nomination papers that Roman Fada, who succeeded the late Akua Donkor, had filed last week.
On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, the Electoral Commission (EC) held a press briefing to announce this development.
Roman Fada’s nomination documents contained a number of mistakes, according to EC Chairperson Jean Mensa.
Madam Mensa affirmed that the balloting position would remain unchanged and that printing would continue as scheduled in spite of the disqualification.
Additionally, the Commission used the occasion to honor Madam Akua Donkor by observing a minute of quiet.
On Monday, October 28, 2024, Madam Donkor died in Ridge Hospital.
