Renewed Clashes In Nkwanta Leave Three Dead In Oti Region

A violent battle in Nkwanta in the Oti Region has reportedly resulted in three fatalities and other injuries.

After violent fights broke out on Wednesday, January 16, and continued into Thursday night, residents are in a state of terror. There have been reports of intermittent gunshots by unknown individuals, and the situation is still tense.

Loud gunshots and significant property damage are captured on videos that Citi News was able to secure. According to sources, the battle is tribal in nature and involves three indigenous groups: the Achodes on one side and the Challa and Adele on the other.

Although it’s unclear if security personnel have been sent in to stop the dispute from getting worse, Citi News’ sources said that fighting was still happening.
