An unidentified attacker shot and killed the former chief of Akrafo Kokobeng, a community in the Ashanti region’s Atwima Nwabiagya District, in front of his home.
Witnesses said that at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nana Okofrobuo Boateng was shot as he entered his home after going out to get food.
The deceased’s family believes he may have been murdered by others who despised him for no apparent reason.
Residents of Akrafo Kokobeng have requested for more police presence in the region and said the occurrence raises security concerns.
While the deceased’s body has been placed in a morgue, the Bohyen District Command police have carried out first investigations at the murder scene.
