Takoradi Market-Circle Project: Mahama Promises Completion Of Project

In order to increase local trade and economic activity, President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to seeing the Takoradi Market-Circle renovation project through to completion.

He reassured locals and businesspeople during his Western Region tour that finishing off ongoing projects is still a top priority for his administration.

At an anticipated cost of €48 million, the Takoradi Market-Circle reconstruction got underway under President Akufo-Addo in 2020 with the goals of modernizing the century-old market, enhancing trading conditions, and increasing revenue generation.

The project, which was originally supposed to be finished in 30 months, is still ongoing, with reports showing that it is only 70% complete.

Speaking to locals and traders, Mahama underlined his administration’s commitment to completing the project.

He has arranged for the contractors and the Finance Ministry to meet on Friday to wrap up talks and make sure the required funds are provided in order to expedite its completion.
