Kwame Ntow Amoah Appointed As Acting CEO Of GNPC, Succeeding Edward Bawa

Mr. Kwame Ntow Amoah has been named the new Ag. Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC). He succeeds Mr. Edward Abambire Bawa, who was moved to GOIL to serve as Group CEO and Managing Director.
Mr. Amoah has held important leadership positions throughout his career, such as Advisor to the Minister of Energy/Director of Petroleum at the Ministry of Energy and Deputy Chief Executive at GNPC.
In addition, he has been a member and chairman of numerous industry, national, and international boards and committees.
In Ghanaian instances requiring international arbitration, Mr. Amoah has been crucial. He helped Ghana win the Maritime Boundary Case on September 23 by acting as the country’s technical advisor.
Through his efforts, GNPC and the nation have been able to secure substantial investments, savings, and funding. He was instrumental in drawing in the funding that resulted in the exploratory achievements that made Ghana a province known for producing commercial oil. Additionally, he played a key role in obtaining almost US$7 billion in funding for the Sankofa Oil and Gas Development Project, which was supported by US$700 million in World Bank partial risk guarantees.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Economics and Statistics from the University of Ghana and an MBA from IMD, Switzerland.
He has also taken part in specialized courses in energy and petroleum management, as well as a number of worldwide general leadership and management training programs.
GNPC extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Amoah on his appointment and looks forward to his leadership in advancing the Corporation’s strategic vision.
The Corporation also expressed its confidence in Mr. Amoah’s expertise and dedication to drive its continued growth and success.
