Multichoice backs Sam George

Multichoice backs Sam George; clarifies new offer not limited to 3 months

MultiChoice Ghana has issued a statement clarifying details of its new DStv value offering, following confusion created by an FAQ published on its website.

The company said the offer, which took effect on October 1, 2025, is fully aligned with the joint announcement made earlier this week by the Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, the National Communications Authority, MultiChoice Africa, and MultiChoice Ghana.

“We fully support the joint media statement that was issued by the Honourable Minister, Hon Samuel Nartey George and implementation of same has already commenced,” MultiChoice Ghana said in its release.

The company explained that, as outlined at the joint press briefing, the DStv Pricing and Value Review Committee will reconvene in three months to evaluate the impact of the initiative.

It stressed that this evaluation will be a “periodic exercise,” not an indication that the offer itself is temporary.

MultiChoice Ghana further confirmed that the promotion applies to all customers. “There is no restriction on a subscriber’s choice of a bouquet. This offer is available to both existing, returning and new customers from 1st October 2025,” the statement noted.

The pay-TV operator apologised for any confusion caused by its earlier online FAQs, which had created the impression that the arrangement was only a three-month promotion subject to review.
