
The maiden MTN Elite U19 Championship reaches its climax on Sunday as Eastern Region face Brong Ahafo in the grand finale at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
Both sides advanced through tense semi-finals. Eastern Region defeated Greater Accra on penalties after a 2-2 draw, while Brong Ahafo edged Ashanti Region 5-3 on spot kicks following a goalless game.
Guided by coach Godie Nana Mensah, Eastern Region topped Group A, beating Western, Upper West and Brong Ahafo, with their only loss coming against Northern Region. They will aim to repeat their 1-0 group stage win over Brong Ahafo but remain cautious of their opponent’s resurgence.
Brong Ahafo, coached by John Danso Nimade, have improved steadily throughout the tournament. Creative midfielder Gideon Otabil has been central to their success, impressing scouts with his technical quality and composure.
The final promises a tight, tactical contest between two in-form teams chasing the ultimate prize.
Running from October 23 to November 2, 2025, the tournament has showcased Ghana’s top young talents, reaffirming MTN Ghana and the GFA’s commitment to youth football development.
