Mahama Signed The Most Expensive Gas Contract In The World, Costing Ghanaians $400billion – Owusu Bempah

Former President John Dramani Mahama has no moral right to be talking about public debt, a Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ernest Owusu Bempah has said.

Mr Bempah accused Mr Mahama of contributing to the debt situation in the country.

Speaking on the Big Issue on TV3 Thursday, March 30, he said the Mahama administration signed the most expensive gas contract in the whole world which is currently costing the Ghanaian taxpayer almost $400billion

“Mahama is going around the country telling people that he wants to come back. When I look at John Mahama telling us he wants to come back I get surprised.

“The most expensive gas contract in the whole world was signed by John Dramani Mahama and it costs the taxpayer almost about 400bn dollars,” he said.

“The energy sector, the debt they left before they left power is absolutely unthinkable. They signed the ENI Sankofa contract which made Sankofa gas the most expensive gas in the world that today the ordinary Ghanaian is paying for. So when they talk about increasing debts it is them.

“Ghanaians should be wise, Mahama is coming for just four, he was six years, and this is his legacy so will they choose a dead goat over a limping elephant.”
