Teenage David Oduro from Ghana will soon sign a loan deal with FC Barcelona from the Accra Lions.
In Catalonia, the eighteen-year-old will enroll in Barcelona’s renowned La Masia Academy, where he hopes to make an impression and possibly gain a permanent transfer the following summer.
Despite beginning his career in the youth divisions, Oduro is now the only player to go straight from Ghana to FC Barcelona.
In an attempt to win a contract, Oduro trained with Chelsea, an English team, earlier this year.
One of Ghana’s most promising young players, Oduro has made a lasting impression on the Accra Lions.
In the current 2023–24 league season, he has appeared in 15 of the 17 games, scoring one goal in a 1–1 draw with Bibiani Gold Stars.
Prior to leaving, Oduro was a key player for Ghana’s U20 team under coach Desmond Ofei.
