The State Housing Company is revitalizing the delayed project and restoring optimism to Ghana’s housing market after years of litigation and abandonment.
The Adentan housing project has been brought back to life after a ten-year hiatus, marking a significant advancement for Ghana’s housing industry.
After being first commissioned by the Atta-Mills administration, the renovations on the seventy-unit development have been resumed by the State Housing Company (SHC).
Due to legal disputes with the contractor, the project was shelved for ten years, but the SHC is currently making great efforts to finish the development.
SHC representatives and the Minister of Housing were happy to see consistent advancements during their site visit.
Kwabena Ampofo Appiah, Managing Director of SHC, stated, “We are committed to completing this project in partnership with the private sector and making the units available for public purchase.”
The government’s larger initiatives to rectify abandoned projects and address Ghana’s severe housing shortage include the Adentan housing project.
Minister of Works and Housing Kojo Oppong Nkrumah stressed that this project is a positive move.
He gave SHC credit for their efforts in making sure that the work is finished on time.
