Prominent legal practitioner and journalist, Samson Lardy Anyenini, has called for the immediate prosecution of Anne Sansa Daly, who has been exposed for falsely presenting herself as a medical doctor in Ghana.
Speaking on JoyNews’ flagship program, Newsfile, on Saturday, Anyenini emphasized the need for legal action against Daly, highlighting that other individuals have faced prosecution for similar offenses.
According to him, we have seen instances where individuals impersonating medical professionals have been arrested and prosecuted, thus, the law must be applied equally, and Anne Sansa Daly should not be an exception.
Daly’s fraudulent claims came to light after investigations by the Medical and Dental Council (MDC) of Ghana revealed that she is neither registered nor licensed to practice medicine in the country. Further checks with the American Board of Family Medicine also confirmed that she is not recognized as a certified medical practitioner in the United States.
Despite lacking legitimate credentials, Daly had been appointed to the board of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), a position that has since been revoked following public outcry and media scrutiny.
Anyenini’s call for prosecution aligns with growing public sentiment demanding accountability and justice in the wake of the scandal. He urged the Attorney General’s office to take swift action to uphold the integrity of the medical profession and the rule of law in Ghana.
