For Ghana’s pivotal final qualifying matches against Angola and Niger later this month, Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has announced a 25-man lineup.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Conference Room hosted the announcement on Thursday afternoon.
Notable absences from the team include Mohammed Salisu, a defender for AS Monaco, and Thomas Partey, a midfielder for Arsenal, who did not play in the previous doubleheader against Sudan.
Three Ghana Premier League players are on the team: Razak Simpson (Nations FC), Emmanuel Antwi (Asante Kotoko), and Isaac Afful (FC Samartex).
Jordan Ayew, Inaki Williams, Mohammed Kudus, and Alexander Djiku are among the several veteran players Addo has selected, and they will all be crucial in the forthcoming games.
On November 15, the Black Stars will play Angola in Luanda at the Estádio 11 de Novembro. On November 18, they will play Niger at home at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Ghana needs to win both games and hope that Sudan loses to both Niger and Angola in order to have any chance of making it to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Ghana is currently in third place in Group F with just two points after four games.
