A 23-man lineup for the Black Stars’ 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matchups against Angola and Niger has been released by head coach Otto Addo.
On September 5, Ghana will play host to Angola at Baba Yara Stadium. On September 9, Ghana will travel to Morocco to play Niger.
The senior national team’s most recent match took place in June during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, where they defeated Mali and the Central African Republic back-to-back.
In order to start getting ready for the AFCON qualifications, which are set for September 5 in Kumasi and September 10 in Berkane, players are expected to report by Monday, September 2, 2024.
With important players like Thomas Partey, Kudus Mohammed, Jordan Ayew, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Otto Addo’s selection is mainly in line with prior teams. Notable returnees include Majeed Ashimeru and Inaki Williams, who missed the previous games; the sole local player picked is Frederick Asare of Asante Kotoko.
Daniel Amartey and captain Andre Ayew have been dropped off the roster.
