Antoine Semenyo Vows To Answer Every Black Stars Call

Antoine Semenyo, a striker for AFC Bournemouth, has confirmed his desire to play for Ghana, saying he will always be available for national team duty unless injured.

Semenyo has since won 27 caps for the four-time African champions after making his Black Stars debut on June 1, 2022, in a 3-0 victory over Madagascar during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifications.

The attacker highlighted his commitment to the team and that he was proud to play for Ghana in an interview with SuperSport.

“It’s an honour; I always want to be part of the national team,” he told SuperSport. “I feel like the only thing that will ever stop me is obviously injury, of course, but I always try to make myself available.”

He further highlighted his deep connection to the Black Stars, adding: “I always want to play for the nation. It’s been a dream of mine from a young age, so anytime I get called up is an honour.”

Ghana recently defeated Chad 5-0 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium, with Semenyo among the team’s scorers.

After scoring his third goal for his country, the Bournemouth forward will return to his club responsibilities with the goal of maintaining his excellent play when the Cherries play Manchester City in the FA Cup this weekend.
