Arsenal Considering Letting Go Off Thomas Partey

Times Sports claims that Thomas Partey is being considered for sale by Arsenal this summer.

The Ghanaian midfielder’s future at the Emirates Stadium is in doubt mainly because of his persistent injury issues.

With just a year remaining on his deal, Partey, 31, made just 16 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions the previous season. Arsenal is willing to move him to create place for Real Sociedad’s Mikel Merino.

The Spanish midfielder is anticipated to cost the club £29.8 million, as Mikel Arteta attempts to boost his team.

Partey was linked to a possible summer transfer from Arsenal, with Juventus and multiple Saudi Pro League clubs expressing interest. Still, no agreement materialized.

In spite of the rumors, Partey played in Arsenal’s Premier League debut at the Emirates Stadium, where they defeated Wolves 2-0. Goals came from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka in each half.

After signing a £45 million contract to join Arsenal from Atletico Madrid on October 5, 2020, Partey has played 115 games and scored five goals for the North London team.
