Asantehene Makes First Post-Coronation Visit to King Charles III

Otumfuo Osei Tutu III, the Asantehene, was received by King Charles III on Tuesday at Sandringham House in the United Kingdom.

In honor of his Silver Jubilee, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is now celebrating in the United Kingdom.

Since King Charles III was crowned in March 2023, this is the first time that the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has paid a visit to the King of England.
The Asantehene is in the UK for a lecture at the British Museum, among other reasons.

The meeting was held at King Charles’ Sandringham home, which is situated in the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on a 20,000-acre estate.

As part of his 25th Anniversary on the Golden Stool, the Asantehene will conduct the sixth Akwasidae Festival of the year in London on August 4, 2024.

He has discussed with the Victoria and Albert Museum, given a lecture at the British Museum, and attended the Awukudae festival there as part of his working visit to the UK.

The Asantehene departed from Ghana on July 13, 2024, a Saturday.
