Embattled Ashanti Regional NSS boss, Alex Opoku-Mensah, is reportedly transferred to the capital to continue his service.
The Ashanti Regional NSS boss was suspended after audios of an alleged altercation between him and a nurse at the Manhyia Government Hospital were leaked. His actions met social media uproar.
Mr Mensah was heard raining insults on the nurse at the facility. The victim corrected his daughter’s wrong prescription at the facility. Her daughter, a junior doctor at the Manhyia Palace hospital issued the wrong prescription. According to reports, he will also be seeing an anger management therapist. What happened was unfortunate and he should not have reacted with emotions as a father. Over the years, wrong prescriptions by doctors have killed thousands of Ghanaians. Also, errors by doctors have led to death and disability in many.

A committee was set up to investigate the said event. The Committee came out with their verdict after deliberations. The Board has sanctioned Mr Opoku-Mensah’s suspension for two months without pay.
After the suspension, you are to report to the Head Office to work under supervision,” the letter written last month further directed. Within seven (7) days upon receipt of this notice, you are also to issue an official apology to the National Service Scheme for bringing the name of the Scheme into disrepute. The directive takes immediate effect,” Mr Assibey Antwi stressed.
He will be working under strict supervision according to the directive. Mr Mensah is now a new man willing to work under supervision.
