Barcelona Targets Viktor Gyokeres As Potential Replacement For Robert Lewandowski

Due to his performance, Gyokeres is now one of the most sought-after players in European football, and other clubs are keeping an eye on his circumstances at Sporting CP. Fichajes asserts that the Blaugrana are eager to finalize a deal for the 26-year-old despite his €100 million (£83 million/$107 million) release clause because they are “convinced” he can usher in a new era for Barcelona’s attack alongside Lamine Yamal.

According to reports, the Blaugranas are thinking of a number of innovative ways to make this agreement financially viable. Vitor Roque, a young Brazilian prospect who was originally offered to Sporting for €30 million (£25 million/$32 million) last summer, is someone the club thinks it may include.

Furthermore

Barcelona still has a 50% sell-on option on Francisco Trincao, a former player who is now with Sporting. In order to secure a top-tier forward at a fraction of his release clause who might lead the attack once Lewandowski departs the team, Barcelona hopes to further lower the total cost of signing Gyokeres by including both Roque and the sell-on rights in a possible deal.

Gyokeres, 26, is off to a great start in Liga Portugal, and his performances this season have only made him more appealing. He has already scored 16 goals in 10 games, continuing his impressive play from the previous league season, when he scored 29 goals and provided 10 assists. His recent Champions League hat-trick against Manchester City has also improved his reputation.

Given that multiple elite teams throughout Europe are apparently contemplating offers, Barcelona will probably encounter fierce competition in its pursuit of Gyokeres.

After Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee’s lackluster displays, Manchester United is reportedly keeping a careful eye on the striker’s availability in an effort to strengthen their striking options. Ruben Amorim, United’s new manager, has raised the team’s prospects and could be crucial in convincing Gyokeres to join.

Bayern Munich and Manchester City are also reportedly interested, which suggests that Barcelona will face a difficult transfer battle as these elite teams all try to bolster their offensive lines.
