Black Satellites Crushed To Defeat By Germany In Pre-Tournament Friendly

On Monday afternoon, Germany easily defeated the Black Satellites of Ghana 5-0 in a friendly match.

Ghana was practicing for the 2024 WAFU Zone B U20 Championship, which will serve as a qualifier for the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which took place later this month.

Ansah opened the score two minutes into the game, giving Germany the early advantage. The youthful German team persisted in exerting pressure, and in the thirteenth minute Weiper doubled the lead.

The Black Satellites trailed 4-0 at the half after Ansah scored twice and Bischof added a fourth goal shortly before the break.

Ghana’s coach, Desmond Ofei, made a number of tactical adjustments, but the team found it difficult to rally in the second half.

In the 79th minute, Komur added a fifth goal to complete a comfortable victory for Germany.

The setback comes after Ghana’s earlier friendly match loss to Switzerland, 2-1.

After this, the Black Satellites will head back home to finish getting ready for the WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship, which is scheduled to get underway in Togo on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
