Ghana’s recent poor performance during the September international break has caused them to plummet significantly in the most recent FIFA World Rankings.
The Black Stars faced Angola and Niger in the opening two Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers for 2025.
The four-time African champions were held to a 1-1 draw against Niger in Berkane after losing 1-0 to the Palancras Negras at Baba Yara Stadium.
Ghana now sits third in Group F as a result of these outcomes.
Ghana, which was ranked 64th in the world earlier, is now ranked 70th after the rankings were released.
The nations that have surpassed Ghana in the world rankings are Burkina Faso, United Arab Emirates, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, and Georgia.
Additionally, the Black Stars have fallen two spots in the continental standings.
They are currently ranked fourteenth, with Cape Verde and Burkina Faso rising higher than them.
Senegal has dropped to second place in the CAF standings, with Morocco currently holding the top spot. Tunisia, Egypt, and Cote d’Ivoire round out the top five.
In the meanwhile, the Black Stars will get back together in October to play their qualifying match against Sudan on matchdays three and four.
