Black Stars will make Ghanaians proud at 2026 World Cup

Black Stars will make Ghanaians proud at 2026 World Cup - Stephen Appiah

Vice Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Stephen Appiah, is confident that Ghana has the talent to make a deep run at the 2026 World Cup.

After a disappointing campaign in 2024, the Black Stars bounced back strongly to secure qualification for next summer’s tournament, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

As the four-time African champions prepare to learn their group-stage opponents later today in Washington, DC, Appiah—who captained Ghana to their first World Cup appearance in 2006 in Germany—believes the current squad has the quality to excel on football’s biggest stage.

“The draw [2026 World Cup] is coming up in December, we are going to America, Canada and Mexico,” Appiah via Betway.

“We have done that before when we went to Germany. And I hope and I know with the calibre of players that we have, we’re going to make it in the next World Cup, which is next year [2026].

“Good luck. We need your support. We need your prayers. See you in America. See you in Mexico. See you in Canada. Go, Ghana,” he added.

Following their exit at the group stage in Qatar in 2022, the Black Stars are determined to leave a stronger impression in 2026.
