The CAF Champions League has eliminated FC Samartex after a Saturday loss to Raja Club Athletic.
After a 2-2 draw in the first leg at Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday, the Ghanaian team took on Raja at the Stade Larbi Zaouli in the second leg of the second preliminary round.
Raja controlled possession and the game from the outset, which caused the Timber Giants to struggle early on.
Marouane Zila broke the tie shortly before halfway, scoring for Morocco and giving them the lead in the match.
Raja Club Athletic maintained their dominance after the interval, playing careful defense even though they had created the majority of the attacking possibilities.
With a 4-2 aggregate score, Raja qualified for the group stage after Naoufel Zerhouni scored a second goal in the last minute of regulation time to secure a 2-0 victory.
FC Samartex will now turn their attention to domestic tournaments, including as the FA Cup and the Ghana Premier League, after their CAF Champions League campaign concludes.
