Charles Forson Declared Winner of Tema Central Parliamentary Seat After Inclusion of Two Polling Stations

The Electoral Commission (EC) has declared Charles Forson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) the Member of Parliament-elect for the Tema Central Constituency.

The announcement was made on Sunday, January 5, 2025, by Francis Twum, the Deputy EC Returning Officer for Tema Central, following the addition of results from two previously unaccounted polling stations.

Explaining the process, Mr. Twum stated:
“In compliance with the court’s directive to include results from the two outstanding polling stations in Tema Central, we have completed the collation for all 147 polling stations, along with the special vote, making a total of 148 polling stations.”

The final results showed:

Charles Forson (NPP): 18,870 votes

Ebi Bright (NDC): 18,815 votes

Frederick Ani Adjei (Independent): 209 votes

Out of a total of 38,038 votes cast, 37,894 were deemed valid, while 144 were rejected.

This declaration solidifies Mr. Forson’s position as the newly elected MP for Tema Central.
