Chelsea has expressed interest in signing Mathys Tel, a winger for Bayern Munich, while the German team is interested in their striker Christopher Nkunku.
The Blues have informed Bayern that they are prepared to make an offer for the 19-year-old should he become available. They initially showed interest in Tel in the summer.
Though they are aware that Bayern has long had interest in the 27-year-old France international, who joined Chelsea from German club RB Leipzig for £50 million in 2023, they have not made a swap bid for Nkunku.
Given that Tel has a contract with the Allianz Arena through 2029, it is unknown how probable Chelsea’s strategy will be successful or if the winger will attempt to push through a move to Stamford Bridge.
Under new manager Vincent Kompany, who left his position as Burnley’s manager last summer to take over at Bayern, he has only started two Bundesliga games.
Marc Guehi, a center-back for Crystal Palace, is another player Chelsea is interested in signing, but they may have to wait until the summer, when the England international will only have one year remaining on his present contract.
In addition to publicly acknowledging his admiration for Guehi’s abilities, Blues manager Enzo Maresca has stated that Ben Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Cesare Casadei are free to depart the team this month.
