Chelsea Mull Over £97.5m Signing In Victor Osimhen Swap

Chelsea contacted Napoli about swapping Victor Osimhen and Romelu Lukaku. The club wants a new striker, and the two strikers are top choice. He has a contract with Napoli with a release clause over £100m. PSG also wants Osimhen, but the Blues are trying to get ahead in the race for him.

Chelsea is willing to send a few players to Napoli in return for Osimhen’s services and is searching for methods to avoid having to activate the player’s release clause, which requires payment in full up front.

Lukaku, who is on loan at Roma and does not have a buyout provision in his contract, is the largest element in any deal. Chelsea and the Belgian have an understanding that he will be available this summer for £37 million, which represents a £60.5 million decrease from the amount Chelsea paid Inter in 2021.

Lukaku will go to Napoli for a reported sum of between £70 and £80 million, and Chelsea intends to include a young player in their bid to bring Osimhen to Stamford Bridge.

Despite the fact that new sports director Giovanni Manna is rumored to be a major fan of the Belgian, Lukaku, who has 12 goals in 30 Serie A appearances for Roma this season, is not yet apparent to be of interest to Napoli.

Manna, who is set to go at Juventus at the conclusion of the current campaign, was reportedly interested in acquiring Lukaku in a trade that would have sent Chelsea’s Dusan Vlahovic to Manchester United last summer.

Before having any official discussions on Osimhen, Napoli authorities are reportedly focused on appointing a new manager.
