The Chinese Eximbank delegation will also discuss how $1.7 Billion debt to China would be paid. According to reports, the Chinese want the Kotoka International Airport as payment for its debt.

President Akkufo Addo has expressed confidence in striking a deal with the IMF meeting with the Chinese Eximbank delegation. The Nana Addo administration has borrowed more than any administration in history.

President Akufo Addo weeks ago pleaded with Germany to speak to China to partake Credit Committe under the Paris Club Common framework to deal with Ghana’s debt restructuring. The German government has assured Nana Addo in convincing the Chinese government.

Finanace Minister Ken Ofori-Atta will meet with the Chinese Eximbank delegation within this week to discuss the debt repayment schedule.
