Cholera Outbreak In Kasoa Leaves 5 Dead, 30 Hospitalized
Five people have died and thirty others are in the hospital as a result of a cholera outbreak in Kasoa, which is in the Central Region’s Awutu Senya East Municipality.
Both the Mother and Child Hospital and the Kasoa Polyclinic have admitted the patients.
According to Anita Love Obo Amissah, the municipal chief executive, three of the deceased died on Thursday night, while the other two died on Friday afternoon.
The MCE warned Ghanaians to be cautious in order to prevent further spread, revealing that the number of sick people had risen from 20 to 30 as of today afternoon in an interview with Adom News.
She praised the medical staff at Kasoa Mother and Child Hospital and Kasoa Polyclinic for their unwavering efforts to save lives.
Madam Amissah further mentioned that some patients having been referred to Kasoa Polyclinic for treatment are from the Gomoa East District, which does not have hospital facilities.
In order to stop more cases, Godson Lodo, the Municipal Environmental Officer, has cautioned the public about buying food from unhygienic sources.
