Concerned Drivers Association Supports Mahama ‘s Transport Reforms

The Concerned Drivers Association ‘s leaders have endorsed key transport policies proposed by NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

These include offering vehicles on hire-purchase for commercial drivers, creating pension schemes, building modern bus terminals nationwide, and introducing a Drivers’ Day.

Amenu Yusuf, the Association’s National Secretary, told Channel One News that the hire-purchase policy is especially helpful, making it easier for drivers to get vehicles and reducing the stress of meeting sales demands.

Yusuf noted that this involvement is a huge relief because it has become almost hard for drivers to buy even used cars, much less new ones.

He stated:

“Amidst our despair based on the current economic condition in the country, the NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has mentioned some policies offering a gleaming hope, which includes the following; higher purchase, pension scheme, ultra-modern bus terminal and driver’s day. With the higher purchase, we trust this intervention to make vehicle ownership easier for players in the transportation sector.”

“It means that drivers can acquire their vehicle and save us from the distress and pressure we go through to meet our sales demand. It is an undeniable fact that it has become almost impossible for us to even buy third-hand vehicles not to even talk of acquiring home used or brand-new ones. We therefore find this intervention to be one that will bring so much relief to us.”

The group advised the NDC flagbearer not to break these pledges even though they still supported him.

They declared that, should these promises be kept, they are prepared to support the NDC in its bid for victory in the 2024 elections.
