Dreams FC Draws with Zamalek in CAF Confed. Cup

In their CAF Confederation Cup match on Sunday night, Dreams FC and the Egyptian superpower Zamalek FC managed an astonishing draw.

For the opening leg of their match, the Ghana Premier League representatives squared up against their tough opponents at Cairo International Stadium.

Zamalek went on the attack right away in an attempt to gain a strong lead supported by their passionate supporters. Though they had little possession from the beginning, Dreams FC, sometimes referred to as the “Still Believe” boys, remained composed.

Zamalek dominated ball possession and opportunities produced, but in the first half, they only forced two shots on Dreams goalkeeper Solomon Agbesi, both of which he skillfully saved.

In the second half, the Egyptian team put more pressure on the game, making 15 efforts but only managing to find the goal four times. Dreams, on the other hand, managed just three shots after the break, just one of which found the net.

With six key stops, Agbesi’s outstanding goalkeeping ensured Dreams FC gained an important away draw against the continental heavyweights.

The Ghanaian team, who are new to the competition, will now aim to defeat Zamalek when they host the second leg at Baba Yara Stadium on April 28.

Interestingly, Karim Zito’s team hasn’t lost at home since the competition began, demonstrating their tenacity and resolve on the continent.
