Eddie Nketiah Leaves Arsenal To Crystal Palace On A 5-year Deal

Eddie Nketiah, an Arsenal striker, has been successfully signed by Crystal Palace to a five-year contract.

In an interview with the team’s website, the 25-year-old forward showed off his delight, stating, “It’s amazing to sign for Crystal Palace – I’m excited to get going.” It makes me happy to be back home because I always look forward to returning to South London.

The England international Nketiah started his career in Chelsea’s development program before turning 14 and joining Arsenal. His rapid ascent through the ranks was highlighted by his incredible 39 goals in 39 appearances for Arsenal’s Under-18 squad.

He was promoted to Arsenal’s first team due to his outstanding play, and in just his second senior game, he scored twice.

In the 2019–20 season, Nketiah won the FA Cup while he was an Arsenal player. With 16 goals in 17 games, he became England’s all-time leading scorer at the Under-21 level in October 2020. He played his senior debut for England against Australia in October of last year.

Nketiah leaves Arsenal having scored 38 goals in 168 games, or almost one per 180 minutes. In the previous season, he also scored his first Premier League hat-trick against Sheffield United.

Nketiah joins Chadi Riad, Daichi Kamada, Ismaïla Sarr, and Maxence Lacroix as Crystal Palace’s five summer additions. He’ll be wearing the Eagles’ No. 9 jersey.

Interestingly, despite his performances for the England side, Nketiah is still qualified to play for Ghana’s national side.
