Esteemed Nollywood Actress Passes On

Following a brief illness, veteran actress Nkechi Nweje passed away on Friday, leaving the Nigerian film industry in sadness.
Film producer Stanley Ajemba, better known by his stage name Stanley Ontop, announced her death on Saturday.
In a heartfelt Instagram tribute, Ajemba called her death “shocking and heartbreaking.”
He recollected their most recent chat and conveyed his profound sadness for the loss.
Nweje was well-known for her outstanding portrayals of mothers in Nollywood movies. She starred in a number of well-known shows, such as Coming Back from Congo, Festival of Sorrow, and Royal War.
She had released her most recent movie, The Debt, on YouTube a week prior to her death.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Azuibuike Nweje, and their six children.
Her death marks a significant loss for Nollywood, leaving colleagues and fans devastated.
Her contribution to the industry and her legacy as a mentor and talented actress will be deeply cherished.
