Felix Afena-Gyan Secures A One Season Loan Move To Juventus Next Gen Team

Felix Afena-Gyan, a striker from Ghana, has formally joined Juventus Next Gen, the Serie A powerhouse Juventus’ reserve squad.

On Friday, transfer deadline day, the 20-year-old wrapped up a season-long loan from Cremonese.

After sealing the transfer, Afena-Gyan expressed his excitement on social media, saying, “It’s an honour to join the Bianconeri. So grateful for the opportunity @juventusfc. Can’t wait to put on the jersey.”

Afena-Gyan originally came to notice at AS Roma, when he left a lasting impression on the club’s Primavera (U-19) squad by scoring six goals in just five games.

In October 2021, he made his Serie A debut. Later that month, he immediately created history by scoring twice against Genoa, making league history as the first player born in 2003 to score.

Due to his success, he was given a contract extension by Roma, which will keep him with the team until 2026.

He did, however, relocate to Cremonese in August 2022, where he struggled to get steady playing time. In 36 games, he was able to record three goals and one assist.

Afena-Gyan is said to have an opportunity to rekindle his career with the transfer to Juventus Next Gen, a team that plays in Serie C Group C.

He intends to regain his form and have a big influence at Stadio La Marmora-Pozzo in Biella, where he will play his home games.
