Former NSA Head Paid MP To Cover Up ‘Ghost Names’ Scandal

Former National Service Authority (NSA) Director General Osei Assibey Antwi paid a Ghanaian Member of Parliament (MP) to stifle media coverage of the ghost names controversy, according to Attorney General and Justice Minister Dr. Dominic Ayine.

Dr. Ayine gave an update on the Office of the Attorney General’s and the ORAL team’s investigations, confirming that notable progress had been made in exposing corruption in the program.

Eight individuals connected to the National Service Scheme issue were questioned, and several of them produced incriminating evidence, Dr. Ayine revealed.

Because these matters are still under investigation, I can confirm that the investigation will conclude in the National Service and the Sky Train Scandal by the middle of April for the prosecution to begin.

“With the National Service Scandal, eight suspects have been interrogated and a good number of them have started singing. We now have evidence of payments that were made into the accounts of the top executives of the National Service by private vendors of the scheme.

“We also have evidence that in November 2024, the CEO of the NSS and others paid a Ghanaian Member of Parliament to kill the story in the media and to defend them,” he stated.
