Ahead of today’s general election, the Ministry of the Interior has declared that all land borders will be immediately closed.
The shutdown will last until Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 6:00 PM.
The shutdown is a security measure to protect the integrity of Ghana’s general elections on December 7, according to a statement released by Interior Minister Henry Quartey.
To guarantee a safe and orderly election process, the Ministry urges all Ghanaians and visitors to the country to work together with State Security Agencies implementing this direction.
