The Ghana Police Service has been sued over an alleged assault. According to reports, the men in uniform have overstepped their boundaries.
Kwabena Badu, head of the Owuahene Royal Family of Boadi in the Ashanti Region, filed a petition at the Police Intelligence Professional Standard Bureau of the Ghana Police Service to look into the matter but was given little attention, hence the decision to resort to the law court.
According to the petitioner, he was arrested by some police officers on November 19, 2021, over a longstanding land dispute between his family and some other chiefs in the Ashanti Region.

The unlawful handling of civilians in Ghana is becoming a norm. Land dispute cases are the most dangerous cases. Some chiefs intentionally sell one land to two people.
