After the season, Olivier Giroud will depart AC Milan and sign with Los Angeles FC (LAFC) of Major League Soccer.
The striker, who was previously with Arsenal and Chelsea, has committed to LAFC through 2025, with the possibility to sign a one-year extension.
Giroud, a 37-year-old international player for France, played at the San Siro for three seasons and assisted Milan in winning Serie A in his debut year.
“I am delighted and excited to join LAFC,” Giroud told the LAFC official website “I can’t wait to get to Los Angeles and to play in front of the 3252 [supporters’ group] and all of the incredible fans.”
LAFC co-president and general manager John Thorrington said: “His championship ambition and his qualities as a man and as a player directly align with ours as a club.”
Giroud has earned 131 caps for France and holds the record as their all-time leading goal scorer with 57 goals. He was a crucial member of the squad that won the World Cup in 2018.
This season, the Frenchman has netted 14 goals in 33 matches for Milan, currently in second place in Serie A.
