Gunfire Heard As Police Clash With Domeabra Residents [Photos]
After storming the region for an operation, police from the Greater Accra Region are claimed to have used live ammunition to disperse a gathering in the Domeabra neighborhood.
When inhabitants of Domeabra and Danchira tried to evict them from a disputed piece of land, they clashed with a group of police officers and purported land guardians from Accra.
A man by the name of Asare is claiming ownership of half of the whole Danchira and Domeabra communities, according to some impacted individuals who talked with Adom News.
After irate teenagers barricaded the road to keep them and the land guards from leaving the neighborhood, the police are reported to have opened fire to scatter the throng.
Asare is claiming the Danchira community and expanding it to Domeabra without a court ruling, according to Nii Supi Ashaley, the Supi of the Domeabra community, in an interview with Adom News.
Supi Ashaley urged the authorities to step in and put an end to the evictions that aren’t authorized.
Ebenezer Ahotor, the assemblyman representing the Danchira electoral area, denounced the action and urged the IGP to step in to stop bloodshed.
