In an interview with Club del Deportista, Inaki Williams, a forward for the Black Stars, expressed contentment with his choice to represent Ghana in international football over Spain. His satisfaction stems from various benefits he has experienced as a result.
These remarks follow Athletic Bilbao’s recent 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid, in which Williams played despite his younger brother Nico’s absence due to a muscle injury. Born in Spain to Ghanaian parents, Williams had the option to play for either country but ultimately chose Ghana. Despite modest goal-scoring statistics, with just one goal in 17 appearances, Williams remains content with his decision.
“Admittedly, things didn’t unfold as we all hoped but both in terms of sports and personally, it has been beneficiary for me. In fact, I believe I am experiencing one of my best moments, thanks to this decision.”
