Ghana forward, Iñaki Williams delivered a stellar performance, scoring twice to lead Athletic Bilbao to a commanding 2-0 victory over Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Wednesday.
Williams opened the scoring early in the 5th minute, seizing on a sloppy pass from the Fenerbahce defense to calmly slot the ball home.
He doubled his tally just before halftime with a stunning strike in the 45th minute. Picking up the ball inside the box, Williams unleashed a thunderous shot that ricocheted off the crossbar and into the net, leaving Fenerbahce goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic helpless.
The brace highlighted Williams’ exceptional attacking prowess and clinical finishing. Throughout the match, he consistently troubled the Fenerbahce backline with his speed, agility, and unrelenting energy.
Following his outstanding performance, Williams was replaced by Mikel Vesga in the 85th minute, securing Athletic Bilbao’s lead in their Europa League group.
Athletic Bilbao now leads the Europa League standings with 16 points after six games thanks to the victory.
