The struggling football club Real Tamale United (RTU) has received a kind donation of 100,000 Ghana cedis from former president John Dramani Mahama.
This kind deed followed a meeting between Mr. Mahama and club officials on Wednesday in Accra.
The club’s administration gave Mr. Mahama an update during the conversation regarding the team’s present struggles and continuous attempts to reclaim its previous glory.
Mahama, who represents the National Democratic Congress (NDC), expressed gratitude for the visit and reminisced about his past experiences working with management teams to help the Northern Blues.
According to the club’s public relations officer, the flagbearer pledged to back the existing management’s efforts to bring RTU back to life with the goal of ensuring its longevity and vitality in Ghanaian football.
After that, Mahama gave the club a large donation of 100,000 cedis.
The CEO of RTU, Zakaria Safianu, expressed gratitude to Mr. Mahama for his kind donation and emphasized its vital role in enabling the team to complete its future schedule.
With 28 points from 29 games, RTU is now bottom of the Ghana Premier League standings.
With one game remaining, they aim to defeat Legon Cities in their Matchday 31 encounter this coming weekend at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex.
