Jonny Evans Extends Manchester United Contract For Another Year

Jonny Evans has signed a new one-year deal that will keep him at Manchester United through the end of the following campaign.

After graduating from United’s academy and playing with the Red Devils for nine years in a row from 2006 to 2015, Evans made a comeback last year to fill in for Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, and Victor Lindelof.

Considering that all four of those players had injury-plagued 2023–24 seasons, Evans was significantly more involved than anticipated in United’s eighth-place Premier League result.

The 36-year-old played in 30 games across all categories, including the FA Cup final victory over Manchester City in May when he came off the bench.

Having won three Premier League crowns and two EFL Cups during his debut season at United, Evans has now won every domestic trophy with the team.

After signing his agreement, Evans gave a statement to the team’s website, saying,

“I am delighted to have extended my contract at Manchester United for another season.”

“To play for this great club and feel the support from our incredible fans is always a privilege.

“Returning to the club last season was an honour; representing the team on the pitch alongside fantastic team-mates under an excellent manager.

“Winning the FA Cup together was an unforgettable experience; I know we can challenge for more trophies in the season ahead.”
