Jordan Ayew Scores Victory Goal As Leicester City Stages Comeback Against Southampton

At St. Mary’s Stadium on Saturday, Leicester City defeated Southampton 3-2 in an exciting comeback game inspired by Ghanaian attacker Jordan Ayew.

Following the Black Stars’ dismal performance against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifications, Ayew excelled upon returning to club football.

The former Crystal Palace striker gave the Foxes the victory over the Saints with a thrilling goal in injury time after the team trailed by two goals.

Cameron Archer and Joe Aribo gave Southampton a resounding first-half advantage, as the home team went ahead before the interval.

Leicester started their second-half comeback when Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku helped Facundo Buonanotte score in the 64th minute.

Ayew, who joined Leicester this summer, had a major influence in the exciting end when he scored in injury time after Harry Winks set him up.

It was his first goal for the team in seven Premier League games and guaranteed the Foxes a memorable victory.

After returning from international duty, Ayew and Issahaku both came off the bench and were crucial to the comeback.

When Leicester plays Nottingham Forest at the King Power Stadium on Friday, October 25, the two will try to motivate the team once more.
