Korea FA officially announces friendly with Ghana in Seoul

In what adds further credibility to Ghana’s announced Asian tour, the Korea Football Association (KFA) has formally confirmed that the South Korean national team will host the Black Stars in a friendly in Seoul this November.

The match is scheduled to take place on November 18, 2025, as the second leg of Ghana’s back-to-back friendlies in Asia, following their encounter with Japan on November 14.

Reports indicate the visit forms part of both nations’ final preparations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The confirmation comes amid widespread media coverage in Korea describing the showdown as a marquee fixture:

“South Korea are expected to host Ghana in Seoul this November …”

This meeting will renew one of West Africa’s engaging football rivalries.

The two sides last clashed during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where Ghana edged South Korea 3-2 in a Group H encounter.

Mohammed Salisu and Mohammed Kudus netted Ghana’s goals, while Cho Gue-sung scored twice in reply.

For Ghana, the Seoul friendly offers coach Otto Addo another opportunity to test squad depth, sharpen tactical cohesion, and simulate high-intensity opposition before the World Cup.

On the Korean side, facing a strong African representative will bolster their readiness and global stature ahead of the tournament.
