Liverpool Confirms Goalkeeper Adrian ‘s Departure To La Liga

Adrian’s exit from Liverpool has been officially announced. The goalkeeper declined to sign a new deal with the team.

After five years at Anfield, the Spanish goalkeeper Adrian has left the club, the  top Premier League club announced on Sunday.

The 37-year-old made 26 appearances for the Reds and was crucial to the team’s 2019 UEFA Super Cup victory over Chelsea in a penalty shootout.

Liverpool tweeted:

“Adrian departs Liverpool this summer having made a valuable contribution to the club’s successes across his five years at Anfield. A popular figure among teammates and staff alike, Adrian leaves the Reds with the best wishes of everybody at the club. Thank you for everything.”

The Athletic reports that although the Merseyside club attempted extending the contract, he declined to sign a new agreement. It is anticipated that he would return to La Liga and play for Real Betis, his previous team.

Since Adrian is no longer with the team, Vitezslav Jaros, a young goalkeeper, will probably be promoted to backup Alisson in the starting lineup by Arne Slot, the new manager.
