Mahama Renames Ministry Of Youth & Sports To Ministry Of Sports & Recreation

As part of a larger governmental reform initiative, President John Mahama formally renamed the Ministry of Youth and Sports to the Ministry of Sports and Recreation.

The rebranding, which was done in accordance with Section 11(3) of the Civil Service Act, 1993 (P.N.D.C. Law 327), divides the youth and sports sectors that were formerly merged into separate ministries.

As a result, the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment, which focuses on youth, will now function autonomously.

This modification is a component of a more efficient strategy that has lowered the overall number of ministries from 30 under the previous administration to 23.

In other news, President Mahama is anticipated to declare next week that a new Sports Minister has been appointed.

According to rumors, former Sports Minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuije is most likely to assume the role.
